Thanks!

....for all of the complements on Bob. You really know how to make a girl feel good! I wore the sweater to work today, and received lots of complements there as well. The colour was a definite hit. Two women in the office wanted the pattern, one of whom I noticed later sitting at her desk happily browsing through Knitty. The other was talking about getting back into knitting as she really did enjoy it. A suggestion made was that this would be a great sweater with long sleeves. A good idea I hadn't even thought of! Here's a so-so picture of myself wearing Bob (shown somewhat reluctantly as I really hate pics of myself).

(Don't know why I put my arms behind my back like that, looks like they're cut off or something. I guess I just wanted to show off the sweater.)

Gotta go knit on the Fortissima socks and watch one of my favourite classic Seinfeld episodes (the one where they get lost in the mall parking garage).

Here's Bob!

I mattress stitched the raglan sleeve seams last night, and immediately went to try it on. I was a little worried that it might be too tight, so had left all the ends unfinished in case frogging was going to take place. To my delight, it fit perfect! Actually, this is the best fitting sweater I've made since getting back into knitting. I'll try to get a picture of myself in it up soon. Thanks so much
Jamie for this great pattern. I love everything about it, especially the flattering shaping. Yarn used for this sweater was Schaffhauser Eviva in magenta, purcahsed from Elann. I enjoyed using this yarn so much that I would love to buy more in different colours, but unfortunately they are completely sold out.

Shopping trip

Today was spent shopping in the neighbouring town with a friend. Of course the trip wouldn't have been complete without a stop at an LYS that I love. I walked out with some Phildar Copacabana Ribbon yarn in the colour phildar copacabana Melba. The pattern I will use for it is sirdar pattern this one. It is actually a pattern for snowflake chunky, but they had a model in the store made with the Phildar that was so pretty that I just have to make it! Oh, and on a non-knitting happy shopping note, I bought a pair of pants in a size I haven't fit for a while, gotta like that!

Off to swatch for Smooch now, yeah!

Not Much Knitting Here!

I haven't posted in the last week as I haven't had much chance to knit. We finally have some summer weather, so it's actually been a little too hot for knitting. Instead, I've been sitting in front of the fan reading an
Ann Rule book called Every Breath You Take. She's a great writer (true crime for those of you not familiar with her).

I finally spent a good amount of time knitting today. Some time ago, Theresa posted a picture of a dishcloth she had made using Yvonne's Double Flower Cloth pattern. Since seeing this gorgeous pattern, I've been wanting to make it. I started and finished it today. It will be part of a birthday gift with handmade bath items. Here's a pic:

This pattern calls for DPNs, but I switched to a circular needle by the end as there were so many stitches I was afraid of dropping. It was a great opportunity to try my Denise Interchanageble needles out. I'm very pleased with them. The cable stays very firmly connected to the needles, and I like the feel of the needles as well. I know I'm going to enjoy having this set.

Not sure when I'll be starting Smooch, hopefully soon. My yarn arrived at the beginning of the week, Rowan All Seasons Cotton in colour 195 Boudoir
Even without knitting it, I love the feel of this yarn so much that I found an auction on ebay Canada for another six balls in Colour 199 Ravish. I expect it to arrive this week, at which point I'll have to decide which colour to use for Smooch!

I'm off to seem the sleeves on Bob, hopefully a picture will follow soon.
