Gonna Smooch!

I'm happy to say that I tracked down both the pattern and the yarn to make this gorgeous tank! I found it at
Beehive Wool in Victoria BC. Neither the pattern or the yarn were listed on their website, but I was just there last week (before I realized I wanted to smooch), and noticed that they sold Rowan patterns. So I e-mailed them to see if they had either, and they did. I phoned and it will be on its way to me tomorrow. Kind of a drag when I was just there last week. It's approximately a four hour drive from here, and I don't get there very often, hence the mail order. It should arrive in perfect time too, since I'm almost finished Bob. Nor sure if it will get sewn together or not this weekend. The sleeves are taking longer than I thought they would, and I haven't had as much knitting time as I thought I would this week. And since it appears blocking will be necessary, the sewing may have to wait for another weekend (not something I want to tackle at the end of a work day). Anyhow, I guess I can now legitimately display this on my blog:

I received a knitting treat in the mail yesterday. On Monday, I decided that I HAD to have a set of the Denise Interchangable Needles. They had been high on my wish list since reading the profile in Knitter's Review. I'll look forward to trying them out on Smooch.

Smooch wanna-be!

I really, really, really, want to join the smooch knit a-long to make the gorgeous tank shown above, and sponsered by Alison at the
Blue Blog. I've searched high and low online for a Canadian source for this pattern. I prefer not to order from the states as I get dinged royally with taxes and duty (money which could better be spent on knitting supplies). If anyone can point me in the direction of a Canadian source for this pattern as well as the Rowan all seasons cotton, I'd be forever indebted. Otherwise, I may have to take the plunge and order from the states, as I've become quite obsessed with making this! Thanks in advance for any help.

Bob Progress

Finished the body of Bob this afternoon (love having an extra day off). Here's a pic:

I'll cast on the sleeves tonight, hopefully finish them this week, and sew the sweater together next weekend. This sweater is fairly form fitting, not loose and roomy like the picture with the pattern. I think it will look nice though. I had problems maintaining my gauge (despite knitting a proper swatch prior to beginning the sweater), the first attempt would have fit two of me!

The kitties are continuing to enjoy their catnip mouse, especially Bambi. It has endured lots of swatting and licking, and as a result, is now partially felted. A good thing though, as I was wondering if this particular yarn would felt well. I just may make another pair of fuzzy feet with it.

I'm feeling kind of down the last few days, as I've managed to do something to one of my ankles (it has a tendency to sprain). As a result, I'm having to take an imposed break from Curves. Hopefully it will get better quickly as I really miss my workouts.

Mouse A-long!

When I saw all the other blogger's kitties having fun playing with their catnip mice, I just had to make one for my kids! As you can see from the pictures below, it was a definite hit. Bambi (top) in particular had a great time rolling around on the floor, smelling and licking her new toy. She's now on the couch, exhausted and ready for a nap. Buttons (bottom) wasn't quite sure what to think of it, but did check it out, and mostly enjoyed watching her sister play.

Thanks so much
Wendy for this great pattern. This is the first thing I've actually made for my girls, and after seeing their reaction, I know it won't be the last!
