Go Canucks Go!

Had a great evening last night, watching the Vancouver Canucks/Minnesota Wild playoff game. What a game, Canucks scored the tying goal with just 1.2 seconds left in the third period, then won in overtime. Yay!!!!!!!! I forsee lots of knitting while watching playoff games for me in the next while. I discovered that a hockey game is a great way to make finishing off a knit project more fun. Sitcom Chic is now done! I weaved in the ends, sewed up the underarm seams, and sewed on the button while watching the game. All that is left is to block the sweater, and hopefully stop the front edge from rolling under. Not too worried about that though. I have of course tried on the sweater, and am pleased with the way it fits. Picture to come. Next sweater up:
Bob. Hopefully, it will get started this weekend.

This past week's business trip didn't leave too much time for knitting. I spent one night working on the Blueberry Waffle socks, and have started the heel. I really love this pattern. I didn't notice until after I started that it requires three 50 gram balls of yarn per pair rather than the usual two balls. I of course only have two. I am making these socks for a small foot, so I may be okay. Otherwise, Elann has lots of Emu superwash in the colour I'm using in stock so I can always order more if necessary. And, of course it wouldn't pay to order the one needed ball, so I'll have an excuse to order more from Elann (like I need an excuse)!

Did some major clothes shopping during this week's business trip. We found a great clothing store in the town we were visiting. Not cheap stuff, but good quality. You know how sometimes while in shopping mode you get somewhat carried away and don't even notice price? Well that's what happenned. Yikes! I ended up with a skirt, a pair of pants, two pairs of shoes, and two shirts. I had been wanting to update my somewhat unfashionable shoe collection, and I needed a new pair of tan pants to replace the pair I had that had seen better days, so I don't feel TOO guilty. My only somewhat knitting related purchase this week was this very cute sewing basket, which I'll be using to hold my DPNs and other knitting notions:

I'm always a sucker for anything kitty-related, I'd been wanting something to hold my knitting stuff, and it was only $7.99 CAD (which is probably less than $5 US) at my local grocery store, so I just couldn't resist!

I finally finished the Opal Socks:

These were knit with Opal 221. I have no idea what collection these are from, or what they are called. If anyone can tell me, I'd really appreciate it. As I write this, Squawkbox, who provide my comments, are down. It has been down for three or four days now, which is a real drag. Their website had been working, but it is now down as well. So, any comments can be made through the e-mail link to the right. Back to the socks......I must say that I am really pleased with the Opal yarn. The socks are soft and comfortable, yet I think will be quite durable as well. I have two more balls that I purchased on Ebay, and will look forward to knitting them up as well.

I sure enjoyed having a four day weekend. I spent a lot of time knitting. Sitcom Chic is pretty much done as well. All that is left is weaving in the remaining ends, seaming the underarms, and blocking. That will all have to wait til next weekend. Another business trip tomorrow. I just started the
Blueberry Waffle socks using pink emu superwash from Elann and will be working on this while I am away from home. Have a good week everyone!
