Happy Easter!

The nice cake was made for us by my mother-in-law. It's as yummy as it looks. Not only did she make us the cake, but also hot cross buns. She made them for each of her childrens' families, so that was four cakes and four trays of buns. Very nice mother-in-law I have.

I love these four day weekends! Friday was spent sleeping in, relaxing, and knitting. Today was laundry, errands, and knitting. Tomorrow will be lots of knitting time as well, the only chore so to speak is making the tossed salad which is my contribution to the family Easter dinner. On the knitting front, I now have the sleeves joined to Sitcom Chic, and am pleased with the way it is progressing. The second Opal sock is about three inches away from the toe decreases, so hopefully that one will be finished tomorrow. Hopefully my next entry will include a finished sock picture. It's been a while since I've had a finished item to report, so off to my knitting now!

Well I've been dragging myself since returning home from the Sun Run. It doesn't help that the cold I've been fighting seems to be close to getting me. I was too tired to knit last night, I vegged in front of telvision reruns last night before falling asleep at 9:30. This morning I woke up wondering where our children's baby pictures were, then remembered we had no children! Not sure where that came from or what it is supposed to mean! Somewhat better tonight, have worked on my Opal socks and the second sitcom chic sleeve.

Haven't posted any kitty pictures lately, and since we know all good knitting bloggers love their pets, it is time for another one. To close today's entry, here's a cute picture of Buttons that hubby took while I was away last weekend:

I've had a wonderful, extended long-weekend. Yesterday my friend Louise and I were in the Vancouver Sun Run. We walked the 10 km for the second year in a row. We did it last year to commemerate turning 40. We had so much fun that we decided to make it an annual event. It wasn't quite so much fun this year due to the pouring rain. We were soooo wet at the end, but felt a real sense of accomplishment that we perservered through the adverse weather conditions. Add to the agenda shopping, great food, and great company, and you have a wonderful weekend. Only down side was no time to knit, but I will be picking up sleeve number two to Sitcom Chic here shortly. Purchases this weekend consisted of a great handbag (in addition to knitting stash acquisition syndrome I also suffer from bag acquisition syndrome), MAC make-up (my current favourite make-up), Elizabeth Zimmerman's Knitting Workshop, some Regia sockyarn (5047because I fell in love with these ones that Wendy knit), and some assorted knitting gadgets. Back to work and reality tomorrow. Not a bad week ahead though, only three work days and another four day long-weekend to celebrate Easter.
