Top Secret Success!
Finished
Top Secret this morning, and love it. It fits absolutely perfectly, right down to the length of the sleeves. Thanks Kate, for this wonderful pattern! I tried to take a picture to show off, but did not have any luck. The yarn I used is a fairly dark green colour of Bernat Illusions (empire green, now discontinued), and the pictures looked like a big dark blob. So, my two WIP's turned into FO's the last couple days, isn't that great? The best part of that is that I now get to begin two completely new projects. One will be a pair of socks made with Kroy 4 ply candy kiss (a nice spring verigated yarn), and the other will be Sitcom Chic.

Casting on counting tip:
This might not be new to any of you experienced knitters out there in blog land, but it is new to me and I thought it was such a good idea that I'm sharing here in case someone finds this helpful. While in one of my favourite LYS's last week, the clerk and I somehow got on the topic of casting on. She said that when casting on a large amount of stitches, she places a marker every 25 or 50 stitches, recounting before each individual grouping before carrying on. I personally hate having to recount after casting on (and always do to double-check anyway), and it can be frustrating if you are interrupted while casting on. I tried this today while casting on for Sitcom Chic, placing a marker every 25 stitches. It worked so well that I will definitely be doing this all the time now. If this is tip is new to you as well as helpful (or if my description makes no sense at all), please leave me a comment to let me know. I'd just like to know if this is something well known to everyone but me!

Well I finally finished the Fortissima colori mexiko 9069 socks yesterday:

These socks seemed to take forever, as I changed needle size once, and had a few mistakes that required frogging. Plus the fact that I've been so darn busy with work stuff lately didn't help either. I am most pleased with how these socks matched, I didn't know if that was going to be possible when I first started them.

Between laundry, groceries, and getting ready for yet another business trip (last one for a while hopefully), I hope to get lots done on Topsecret today. I am about two inches from finishing the second sleeve, then will be joining the sleeve to the body. I have heard from a reliable source (the designer
Kate who nicely left a comment for me), that once the yoke is started it goes quite quickly. I hope this proves to be true for me! MAYBE I'll be able to finish it today??
