Still home playing on the computer! Don't need to go drive 40 minutes to the LYS though, because thanks to the wonderful list that Kate sent me, I managed to find the actual yarn called for in the Fuzzy Feet pattern (Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride) in Vancouver, at Wool and Wicker, and they are going to mail order it to me. They were so nice on the phone too, they don't take credit cards, but will ship my order today and I can send them a check! Isn't that great? The colour I'm getting is M79 Blue Boy. They didn't have a lot of different colours to chose from, had some on order but I didn't want to wait! I NEED to work on this when everyone else is doing the FFFA, LOL! Interestingly, the person who took my order said that there has been quite a run on this yarn lately. Other FFFAers perhaps? Off to do some banking, then home to relax and knit!

I'm sitting here at the computer this morning, playing with my blog and listening to the tragic news on television about the space shuttle. Very, very sad. I've changed the template for my blog. I have tried a few that are not from the blogger site, but can't get them to work, so I guess I will be limited to what blogger has to offer. Still thinking of upgrading to blogger pro. My plan for today is to go for a little drive to the next town (40 minutes away) as they have a great LYS. I will hopefully be able to get all the supplies I need for the FFFA. Will hopefully finish the first of the pair of socks I'm working on (using my cassein needles of which I only have one set, hence I'm forced to knit one at a time). I'm also contemplating making a baby hat to match a crocheted afghan I finished a couple weeks ago. Co-worker's baby girl was born Thursday night.

Well I did it last night, I signed up for the fuzzy feet felt along. Now I just have to round up the supplies. I might try nipping out to my LYS during my coffee break at work this morning to see what they have. You can read more about the felt-a-long here.

My current pair of socks (first pair that will be given as a gift) are coming along nice. Each pair looks better than the last, which is great. I wore the first pair I knit to work yesterday. This was the first time I'd worn them, and I love them! They are probably the most comfortable socks I've ever worn. Today I will wear the regia pair, planning my wardrobe today around socks, LOL!

I'm contemplating upgrading to blogger pro. I would appreciate any feedback any of you have as to whether or not it is worth the money. You can leave comments in the box to the left, or e-mail me. Thanks!

Been working on another pair of socks, this time with a pretty cream coloured Kroy yarn. These will be the first socks I give as a gift. I am using my new swallow cassein needles for the first time. I wasn't sure if I liked them at first, but now that I am used to them, I love them and am contemplating buying more in other sizes.

I'm thinking of some other knit projects I'd like to start today. I just don't have enough spare time to do all that I want, but know I'm not alone in that! Some things I'd really like to try include the felted slippers from Knitty that several other bloggers are currently talking about, as well as a fairisle sweater. I've never done fairisle before, but someone at work was working on a sweater for her hubby today at lunch, and of course that really intrigued me!

Its days like today that makes it so wonderful living on the West Coast. While much of North America is experiencing cool temps and snow, it was an absolutely wonderful day here! I went for a walk along the ocean, and it was so warm that at times I took my light windbreaker off and just had my short-sleeved t-shirt. Temp was about 12 Celsius, which is close to 60 on the farenheit scale.

On the knit front, I finished my Ringel socks. Pleased about some things, not so pleased about others. I'm happy that I understand much better how a basic sock is shaped, am more comfortable with the Kitchener stitch, and that I have no hole by the gusset thanks to a tip from the Socknitters list (when starting the heal, secure the remaining stitches on a piece of yarn so that the needles don't weight the sock and cause the gap). What I am not so happy about is that in an effort to avoid a pointy toe and to ensure that I grafted the stitches in the last colour I knit with, I now have a rather square toe. Definitely a learning experience. If you'd like to see a pic of one of the socks, you can click here.
