Taking a break here from watching Trading Spaces and knitting cause my hands are getting sore! Had a very productive day. Got the crochet bookmark done first thing. Turned out well if I do say so myself. I haven't crocheted with thread for a good month, so quite enjoyed it. Got further along on the socks than I thought I would today. Almost ready to do the toe decreases on one sock, but just finished the gusset decreases on the other. Just maybe I'll get it done tomorrow, in between laundry and groceries. Interesting though, that for someone who has always HATED anything mathematical, I'm actually enjoying the calculations and understanding how the sock is shaped!

Yay, the weekend is here! I'm planning a nice quiet relaxing weekend (not at all unusual for me). Seemed like a long week, I think due to a business trip and early start to the day Tuesday, being out Wednesday night, and the dull dreary January weather. I need to pick up my crochet hook again this week as I have a bookmark to make for an exchange on one of the lists I'm on. I hope to get lots done on my regia socks as well. I am both socks at the same time, alternating back and forth. I am ready to shape the heal on one, and almost on the other. Probably won't get them finished this weekend, but will hopefully be much closer.

I joined a couple blog webrings this week, so maybe I have more readers here? Hard to say. I also have the message board installed to the left. If you are reading, please say hi!

Good mail day today, the two books I ordered from Chapters arrived today. The first book was Socks Socks Socks. This book was recommended on one of the e-mail lists I'm on, so I just had to get it. I've had a very quick look through, and my first impression was that it is wonderful! The patterns range from easy to advanced. Several there that I feel I can try with my limited knitting skills! While I was putting an order in, I figured I'd order a basic knitting book. I chose Debbie Bliss's Step-by-step Knitting Workbook. At first glance, it looks very good as well. There is a really cute baby hat that I'll probably make soon, something I had been looking for already.

Back to knitting my Regia socks now. I had an extra day off today, but back to work and reality tomorrow. Long day to boot, I leave home at about 7:15, should be home 6ish, will probably be too tired to knit!

Very nice relaxing day, with lots of time to knit. Starting my socks using the Regia Ringel #5268 Eskimo. It is fun seeing the pattern develop. While knitting, I watched a DVD that someone had lent me. I am Sam.
What a great movie, I had no idea that Sean Penn was such a fabulous actor. I highly recommend this movie.

Yippee! I conquered my fear of the Kitchener stitch, and successfully grafted this sock! What a difference a quiet house with the phone off the hook and DH at work makes. If you'd like to see a picture of my very first pair of hand knit socks, Click Here
The pattern I used was the AN 12, Basic Socks (Ann Norling).
My main goal for today is to start my Regia Jacquard socks. I'm really looking forward to using this self-patterning yarn.
